The more the merrier! If you enjoy riding with others, you’ll love riding along with one of our convoys. Bicycle convoys are led by experienced volunteer commuters and there are multiple meetups throughout the region.
If you’d like to join a convoy, simply meet the group at the start location or hop on/hop off anywhere along the route as they pedal by. No need to register separately for any convoy. You can find your local convoy by using the map below. Details and contact information display beneath the map.

#1 Bethesda/NIH to White Oak

Starts from Bethesda/NIH pit stop (or just outside the main gate if your piv card isn’t set for NIH, or you’re not a .gov) at 7:30 (times and exact route are negotiable
). We’ll meander through parks and neighborhood roads to the FDA White Oak pitstop. About an hour ride, with nice Flash bus (allows bikes inside) option if needed for that last long uphill.

#2 Hood College to Frederick MARC Station/Transit Center

This convoy will meet at the Shell Gas Station on South Van Dorn St in Kingstowne, from there, we will go towards Rose Hill then Eisenhower Avenue, Old Town Alexandria, Carlyle Pit Stop, Potomac Yard Trail, Mount Vernon Trail into DC. The final stop will be Foggy Bottom but those going to Crystal City, Pentagon or Freedom Plaza, could join us for most of the route.

- Meet at 7:10 a.m. at the bike parking area on the south side of Forest Glen Road between Georgia Ave and Coleridge Dr. At 7:15 a.m., we will travel along Forest Glen Road to northbound Sligo Creek Parkway. At University Blvd, we will take the red bike/bus lane west toward Wheaton and then left onto Amherst Ave southbound. At Reedie Dr we will turn right and cross Georgia Avenue and the Wheaton Pitstop will be in the Plaza on the left. 3.6 mi ride.

- Ride starts at 7:30 and will stop along the way for a break at the Cleveland Park pit stop. There will also be an option to turn east on Calvert Street to go to Adams Morgan and the Unity Park pit stop.
- End point is Dupont Circle.
- We will use the right-most traffic lane, two abreast, for the ride.
